TEPCO Home-use city gas to be sold in Kansai and Chubu regions November 5, 17:20

TEPCO has decided to start selling city gas for households in the Kansai and Chubu regions.

Sales of electricity and gas will intensify competition across industry and regional boundaries.

TEPCO announced that it will expand sales of city gas for households to the Kansai and Chubu regions in addition to the Kanto region, and will start accepting applications from the 16th of this month.

The policy is to offer a plan that is about 3% cheaper than the general rate of local city gas.

In the field of electric power, which is TEPCO's main business, since retailing for households was liberalized four years ago, so-called "new electric power" of new businesses have entered one after another, and TEPCO has a sales share in the Kanto region. I have been robbed of more than 20%.

On the other hand, TEPCO has expanded its sales area to the whole country except Okinawa, but in Kansai and Chubu, we would like to sell city gas in an integrated manner to increase sales.

In the field of energy for households, Tokyo Gas also started selling electricity within the jurisdiction of Hokkaido Electric Power Company and Chubu Electric Power Company last month, and competition is intensifying across industry and regional boundaries.
