Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Estimated rice production next year 140,000 tons additional production will not change significantly 19:14 on November 5

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has revised the guideline for the desired rice production next year to 6.93 million tons, an increase of 140,000 tons from the time of last month.

This is because the production volume of this year is expected to be lower than the previous forecast, but next year, the situation where the largest-ever production cut is required remains unchanged, urging producers to switch their crops.

On the 5th, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries set a target for next year's rice production of 6.93 million tons, which is 140,000 tons higher than the level shown last month.

This is because the production volume of this year is expected to be lower than the conventional forecast due to the influence of lack of sunshine.

However, even after this revision, the desired production volume for next year will be more than 300,000 tons less than this year's production volume, and the situation where the largest-ever production cut is required will not change.

For this reason, the issue is how to encourage rice producers to switch to rice for feed and processing, as well as wheat and soybeans.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries says, "I want producers to be aware that the situation where supply and demand is loose has not changed, and to consider early on what to do with planting."
