[Explanation] The 3rd China International Import Expo opened in Shanghai on November 4. The Expo attracted more than 3,000 Chinese and foreign media reporters for interviews and reports. They all came to the CIIE Press Center early that day to report.

What are the concerns and expectations of journalists for the CIIE?

A reporter from China News Agency interviewed three foreign journalists at random. What did they say?

[Subtitle] Attending the CIIE, what are you most looking forward to seeing?

[Concurrent] Bennett Nathan, American reporter, People's Pictorial

It seems that this year's medical equipment and medicine and health care exhibition area has been expanded to a considerable size. I think those therapeutic equipment will be very interesting to see how they are used and where they are applied.

[Concurrent] China reports Brazilian reporter Zerbetto Rafael

I look forward to seeing various new products that will enter China.

Agricultural products are an interesting field, because China is importing more and more agricultural products; the other is medical products, because the world is now paying attention to this field; of course, there is technology, which is also an area that has always been concerned.

[Concurrent] Elmaghrabi Hosam, Egypt correspondent of China Net

The first point I want to see is how China prepares for this CIIE, how to prepare many foreign companies to come to Shanghai, how to prepare masks and safety issues. I think this is particularly important.

[Subtitles] As a foreign reporter, how do you plan to cover the CIIE?

[Concurrent] Bennett Nathan, American reporter, People's Pictorial

What I want to interview is how small and medium-sized enterprises can benefit from the CIIE.

How does the CIIE help them connect with reliable suppliers and reliable customers? You know, we all hope that outstanding foreigners can connect with China.

[Concurrent] China reports Brazilian reporter Zerbetto Rafael

Because I am a journalist from Brazil, of course I will pay attention to companies from Brazil. I need to interview some corporate staff. I want to know which products they plan to introduce to China and which products they have brought to China. Let them know about Brazil What are the problems in exporting products to China?

[Concurrent] Elmaghrabi Hosam, Egypt correspondent of China Net

The first (to be reported) is the economy. China's economy is improving. The second (to be reported) is how to protect the people. This is particularly important. The third is (reporting) how can I protect you from abroad? I think we should also let foreigners know about this.

[Subtitle] How do you feel about reporting on the CIIE during the epidemic?

[Concurrent] Bennett Nathan, American reporter, People's Pictorial

I think the virus can be well tracked, blocked, and resolved to prevent it from spreading, so (CIIE) only needs to follow the procedures for epidemic prevention (it is very safe).

[Concurrent] China reports Brazilian reporter Zerbetto Rafael

I feel safe because I live in China and I know the conditions here are very good. I live in Beijing. There was an outbreak in Beijing in the summer. I saw the government act very fast and they did a good job. Now when I come to Shanghai to participate in this expo, I also find that they are very serious about epidemic prevention and even require us to do nucleic acid testing, so I know the environment here is safe.

[Concurrent] Elmaghrabi Hosam, Egypt correspondent of China Net

  Two words, safety.

Very safe, really.

Because you are not alone (in epidemic prevention), there are others who remind you that wearing a mask is safety first.
