Emirates Airlines: unpaid leave for some pilots with provision of housing, medical coverage and other allowances
An Emirates spokesperson said: "We continue to do everything in our power to preserve our skilled human resources in preparation for the return to normal operations after the pandemic is over, but we also need to consider the impact of the current circumstances on our operations and costs."
The spokesman added in a statement that Emirates Today received, a copy of it: "In all divisions of the Emirates Group, we provide many offers to workers, including unpaid leave."
He added, "We can confirm that we offered some pilots an unpaid leave for 12 months, with the possibility of early call-up to return to service depending on how quickly the demand recovers and our operational requirements."
He stated, "We will continue, during the unpaid leave, to provide housing, medical coverage and other allowances."
