The agreement generally follows the Economic Partnership Agreement between Japan and the EU, eliminating tariffs on automobiles exported from Japan in 2026, while not incurring new tariffs on imported agricultural products. ..



On the other hand, in the field of electronic commerce, with the aim of restraining information management by the state seen in China and other countries, measures have been taken to limit the intervention of both countries in the exchange of corporate data necessary for business. The government has a policy of aiming for prompt approval in the current extraordinary Diet session, and if the procedures on the British side go smoothly, the agreement is expected to come into effect on January 1, next year.
