The company expects unprecedented parcel volumes.

La Poste announced on Tuesday the recruitment of 333 seasonal workers in the Rhône and 1,268 in Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (out of a total of 9,000 in France) in anticipation of the strong activity announced for the end of the year.

A record increase in parcels to be delivered for the Holidays is expected due to the confinement and closure of local shops, in a context marked over the past five years by a doubling of Colissimo volumes in November and December.

Reinforcements in logistics, distribution and reception

"La Poste is preparing to process up to nearly 4 million parcels in a single day against 3.1 million in 2019 across the country," said the company on Tuesday.

To cope with these unprecedented volumes, linked to the foreseeable postponement of French people on online purchases, La Poste, which is observing the same upward trend in its subsidiary Chronopost, has planned to strengthen its workforce at various sites.

In the Rhône, seasonal workers will be assigned to "logistics in parcel sorting platforms such as that of Saint Laurent de Mure", to "the distribution of parcels in one of the 49 parcel mail centers and to reception and collection. in charge of customers in one of the 144 post offices ”, indicate the services.

To anticipate needs, the company worked in the Rhône with employment and temporary agencies.

The positions to be filled in the department, the region and the whole of France can be consulted on the site laposterecrute.fr, under the heading seasonal jobs.
