For yet another year, the Spanish 'Forbes' list is headed by the owner of 60% of Inditex, whose fortune

, 6,000 million less than that of 2019

, is equivalent to that of the next 45 millionaires in the ranking.

Behind the founder of Inditex is his daughter Sandra, with a fortune of

5,600 million euros,

and the president of Mercadona, Juan Roig, who with

4,100 million

overtakes

Rafael del Pino, Ferrovial's majority shareholder

3,200 million),

and to the president of

Torreal, Juan Abelló

, who ranks fifth with

2,700 million euros.

Roig has increased his fortune by 1.4 billion euros

due to the results of Mercadona and the management of the supermarket chain during the pandemic.

In total, the

wealth of the 100 fortunes of Spain in 2020 amounts to 130,505 million euros, 12% less than the figure for 2019.

The first five fortunes on the list add up to 72,600 million and represent 55.6% of the total of the wealth.

The 2020 list is closed by Fernando, Carolina, María, Luis and José Masaveu, with 225 million each.

Regarding the gender division,

with 1,500 million, 50% less than in 2019. Along with Fluxà, another of the great representatives of the hotel sector, the founder and

There is no canary

This year the Canary Islands have no representative either among the wealthy individuals or among the 100 richest families due to the weight of tourism among the richest Canary families.

For its part, in the

Balearic Islands,

the wealth of the 100 richest families is concentrated in two sectors: tourism, with 90% of the wealth of large families, and sports, with 10%, a percentage that falls exclusively to

Rafael Nadal and his family.

In

Catalonia

the wealth of the richest is distributed among nine large sectoral groups.

Of them, the most important are: chemistry and pharmacy (38%), food and beverages (17%) and investments (14%).

On the other hand, the wealth of

the richest Galician families

is highly concentrated in the clothing sector (95%), due to the weight of the Ortega family.

Madrid
