Chinanews.com, Beijing, November 2 (Reporter Ma Xiuxiu) Zhaolian Recruitment officially released the "Research Report on White-collar Job-hopping and Career Development in Autumn 2020" on the 2nd.

The report pointed out that flexible employment for white-collar workers has become a trend. 18.7% of white-collar workers have had sideline or flexible employment within a year, and 57.1% of white-collar workers still believe that their main business is irreplaceable.

According to the report, in terms of employment types, product sales including personal micro-business, insurance, e-commerce, and street stalls accounted for the highest proportion, reaching 32.7%; 28.5% of white-collar workers used design and drawing, manuscript writing, video editing, translation, etc. Skill-exporting jobs are mainly in the form of "slashes", and 17.7% increase income through investment and business side businesses such as physical store operations, stocks/futures/funds/virtual currency investments.

The report pointed out that new types of flexible employment have also become the choice of many people in the workplace. Labor-exporting jobs (open Didi or on behalf of driving, express delivery/takeaway, waiters, etc.) and operating self-media/personal IP (bloggers, UP owners, open Official accounts, etc.) accounted for 9.3% and 5.7% respectively.

According to the report, women’s natural empathy and communication advantages make female professionals more inclined to increase their income through product sales, accounting for 43.3% of the total, almost twice that of male white-collar workers.

Men are more inclined to use hard skills to monetize, accounting for 33.4%.

In addition, male white-collar workers also account for a higher proportion of investment-management and labor-exporting jobs. Female white-collar workers have a slight advantage in becoming self-media experts and operating personal IP.

The report also pointed out that the advantages of rich types of side businesses and freedom of work are inseparable from the stable main business support.

For white-collar workers who have experienced flexible employment, 57.1% of the people still insist on the necessity of the main business even if the income from some side jobs is considerable, while 32% of white-collar workers think that they can “turn vice to positive”, and 10.9% did not give a definite answer .
