Reconfinement: What measures are planned to support the economy?

With the reconfinement announced Wednesday evening by Emmanuel Macron, a whole part of the economy will once again come to a standstill.

All “non-essential” businesses - such as bars, restaurants, cinemas - will have to close until further notice.

To help them, the government will take or extend a whole series of measures for a total of 20 billion euros, which will be added to the heavy bill of Covid-19.

"Doing nothing would have an even greater economic, financial and above all human cost," Prime Minister Jean Castex explained to the deputies.
