The export license to the EU was obtained from the meat processing facility "Tokachi Factory No. 3 Factory" of Hokkaido Livestock Corporation in Obihiro City.



According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare and the Livestock Corporation, the factory has prepared manuals such as hygiene management and slaughter methods required by the EU side, and has been examined by the national and EU sides, but it was approved for export on the 30th. about it.



Meat exports require processing facility approvals for countries and regions with different hygiene standards, and the factory has so far been licensed to export beef to nine countries and regions, including the United States and Hong Kong. I was getting it.



Tariffs on beef exported from Japan to the EU were abolished in February last year with the entry into force of the EPA = Economic Partnership Agreement, so the export volume increased by 30% over the previous year over the last year.
