Communications Commission held a plenary meeting and imposed an administrative disposition on MBN, who violated the Broadcasting Act due to illegal provision of capital, to stop broadcasting for six months.

MBN must stop broadcasting for 6 months starting from May next year after a 6 month grace period.

Revocation of approval under the Broadcasting Act was also discussed, but it was decided to suspend work for six months by applying the reduction criteria.

It takes into account the loss of employment.

[Kim Hyun/Vice Chairman of the Korea Communications Commission: In the event of cancellation of approval, the administrative disposition was decided by comprehensively considering the damages of business partners and related workers such as outsourcing producers.]

MBN has

decided on an administrative disposition to

meet the capital requirements in the 2011 full-scale approval process. It was confirmed that he received a loan under the name of the company, covered it with a new name, and submitted false data.

After that, I was reapproved twice, hiding this fact.

MBN announced an apology to the public and announced the resignation of CEO Jang Seung-jun, but the Korea Communications Commission decided to criminally prosecute the representatives at the time of approval and re-approval.

MBN, which recorded KRW 150 billion in sales last year, is expected to inevitably suffer enormous losses, unrest in employment such as non-regular workers, and a decline in reliability as it will be unable to conduct business such as advertising sales due to the first ever broadcast suspension.

MBN said that it will do its best to prevent the broadcast from being interrupted, and that it will come up with comprehensive measures such as legal response.
