The sector was already in crisis.

And the announcement of a reconfinement, made Wednesday evening by Emmanuel Macron, worries him a little more.

Actors in the economic world were also quick to react to the establishment of a new containment, to try to stem the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic, from Friday until the 1st December at least.

The re-containment will "cause considerable economic and human damage" warned the president of Medef Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux on Wednesday evening.

The latter said "understand" the "disarray and anger" of traders who are "penalized" while "it is not in the shops that the contamination takes place but in the private sphere".

This is also what the Union des entreprises de proximity (craftsmen, liberal professions and small traders) underlined: "How can the unilateral decision to close a large number of businesses be justified when most of the amplification of the pandemic? comes from the private sphere?

(…) We are losing the three main engines necessary for the life of companies: confidence, activity and visibility ”, warned its president, Laurent Munerot.

"Immediate implementation" of aid

In his televised address, Emmanuel Macron announced aid to the sector.

“Above all, we want immediate implementation.

We cannot announce aid every two weeks, when we have already lost a lot of time, on the payment of rents for example, reacts Roland Héguy, president of the Union des professions des industries de l'hôtellerie.

A business manager must be able to know the help he will have at the end of November, December and until the end of the health situation to decide whether to continue his activity.

"

For François Asselin, president of the Confederation of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, “what Emmanuel Macron told us already exists.

The solidarity fund which goes up to 10,000 euros already exists.

For the moment, unfortunately nothing new for the companies which will be strongly impacted ”.

And to add: "I am really waiting for the problem of rents to be solved, for their business losses to be made good, because there will be no other alternative than 'go to the commercial court.

Economically it is a killing somewhere, if there is not a support plan commensurate with the efforts required of them (…).

We are now waiting for specific elements to be reassured.

"

According to the head of Medef Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux, the reconfinement "will cost the country between 50 and 75 billion euros in gross domestic product".
