China News Service, October 27. According to the website of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Ningnan County of Sichuan Province detected an African swine fever epidemic from the seized illegal transfer of live pigs from other provinces.

  On October 26, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs received a report from the China Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center, which was confirmed by the Sichuan Provincial Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center. It was found in the middle row of illegally transferred and transported pigs from 1 vehicle at the Hulukou Animal Epidemic Prevention and Control Station in Ningnan County African swine fever epidemic.

At the time of the seizure, the vehicle was carrying 35 pigs, 14 of them were sick and 7 were dead.

  After the outbreak, the local area has initiated emergency response as required, culling and harmless treatment of all piglets, and thoroughly cleans and disinfects relevant places, roads and transportation vehicles along the way.

Currently, the investigation and retrospective work of the epidemic is underway.
