Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) stated in a statement yesterday that “WETEX and Dubai Solar Energy 2020” is the first carbon-neutral 3D virtual exhibition in the Middle East and North Africa region, pointing out that the use of a virtual platform to host the exhibition comes as part of the authority’s efforts to follow practices. Sustainable, as the virtual version provides all the advantages and opportunities provided by the traditional exhibition.
According to the statement, 55 local and international institutions and companies have announced their sponsorship of the exhibition «WETEX and Dubai Solar Energy 2020», in various categories.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, said that the exhibition has become a platform that brings together major international companies and institutions to display the latest developments and technical solutions in the sectors of water, energy, sustainability and innovation.
Al Tayer added, "We consider the sponsors and supporters of the (WETEX and Dubai Solar Energy) exhibition as a partner of the authority, and contribute to consolidating the position of this important economic and environmental event on the map of specialized exhibitions in the world, and participate in accelerating the transition towards a green economy.
In turn, the Executive Director of the Strategy and Corporate Governance Sector at the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, Nasser Bushehab, said that the Authority's participation in the exhibition is a good opportunity to showcase its initiatives, achievements, and plans to achieve a sustainable green environment in all its operational and service work.
He pointed out that the Roads and Transport Authority achieved tangible results and savings during the year 2019 at all levels and types of energy, as it was able to achieve electricity savings of 39.6 gigawatts / hour, water 45.2 million gallons, gasoline 15.5 million liters, and diesel 700 thousand liters. .
