Saad Hariri was chosen by a majority of 65 MPs, according to a statement read at a press conference by a senior presidential official.

Saad Hariri, is the leader of the Current of the Future, Sunni.

He was Prime Minister 3 times in 2009-2011 and then from 2016. His last experience ended with a resignation on October 29, 2019 under the pressure of a protest movement unprecedented in the recent history of the country.

And there, he comes back while the street calls for new faces, a total change of system for months.

Lebanon is going through a serious political and economic crisis and was traumatized by the explosion of August 4 which highlighted the carelessness of the political class in the country.

Since this tragedy, the Lebanese leaders were under pressure from the international community, in particular from France to find a solution to end the crisis.

But parties have torn apart, a lot of time has been wasted, and finally it is former Prime Minister Saad Hariri who emerges again.

Not sure that this satisfies the population.

Saad Hariri will have to form a government, which promises to be very complicated.
