In France, all work deserves not only salary, but also rights to training.

In order to be able to progress in their careers or change jobs, workers acquire rights each year which allow them to take additional certifications.

The deadline is approaching

Since 2015, it is through the personal training account, says CPF, that everything is managed.

Do you remember its predecessor, the “individual right to training”?

If you were already working at the time, you had necessarily accumulated hours under the DIF, without having used them.

So that the change of system does not penalize workers, the legislator has therefore provided for a transfer of rights from one system to another.

But, contrary to popular belief, the procedure is not automatic.

However, despite various communication campaigns, some employees have still not taken the necessary steps.

The good news is, if you haven't uploaded your hours yet, you can still do so.

The bad news, however, is that you don't have much time to act.

Originally, the State had in fact quite simply planned to remove the rights of the DIF not used in 2021. Fortunately for the latecomers, an order of August 21, 2019 finally relaxed the measure.

In order not to lose the credit acquired before 2015, it is sufficient to register the latter on the official portal of the CPF in order to make the transfer.

But be careful, you must complete the process before December 31, 2020.

The user manual

When the DIF disappeared, your last employer had to give you an official certificate indicating the balance of your acquired and unused hours.

If the document is lost, you can otherwise find this information on your payslip for December 2014 or January 2015. If you worked simultaneously for several companies on December 31, 2014, add the hours indicated on the different certificates.

Once you have taken control of your DIF balance, connect to your CPF from the dedicated site Moncompteformation.gouv.fr or via the mobile application or create your account if you have not yet done so, in order to defer your rights.

Please note: the device is now expressed in euros, at the rate of 15 euros per hour.

Enter the amount of your DIF rounded up to the next unit, then download your proof and record your balance which will then be credited to your meter in euros.

You can then make a request for training under the usual conditions of the CPF and use your credit as you see fit and without any date limit to respect since this account accompanies you throughout your career.

The essentials of the CPF

The personal training account applies to anyone from the age of 16, or 15 as part of an apprenticeship, and begins to be supplemented at the start of their career.

Previously, he was credited with 24 hours per year for the first five years and 12 hours the following years, for a full-time worker, up to a maximum limit of 150 hours.

But since 2019, your rights are calculated directly in euros, in order to apply a single scale of 15 euros per hour to all eligible training courses.

Therefore, full-time or part-time employees as well as the self-employed benefit from 500 euros per year in respect of their CPF, up to a maximum limit of 5,000 euros, against 800 euros per year and 8,000 euros for employees not qualified.
