Exhibition of electronic devices, etc. "CEATEC" opens The theme of "new daily life" October 20, 12:05

"CEATEC", one of the largest exhibitions of electronic devices in Asia, started on the 20th.

This year, it will be held online for the first time due to the influence of the new coronavirus, and the latest digital technology will be introduced under the theme of "new normal = new daily life".

More than 350 companies and organizations from Japan and overseas participate in this year's CEATEC, and the organizer is one of the largest in Asia.

The latest products and services related to telework and infection prevention measures for the new coronavirus are introduced on a dedicated website.

Of these, Sharp Display Technology has developed a liquid crystal panel that is approximately 1 mm thick and looks like a transparent plate.

It is a mechanism that takes in light from the outside and projects characters and images, and it is introduced that it can be placed between seats and used as a panel to prevent infection.

TDK has also developed an app that collects detailed location information by detecting the magnetism emitted from the ground by a sensor inside the smartphone.

The strength of the magnetism makes it possible to know the height of the building, such as what floor it is on, and if a large number of people use it, it is possible to know which room in the building is crowded with people.

Mr. Choi Kyung-kyu of TDK said, "We have developed a smartphone so that you can easily prevent the three crowds in the office."

In addition, Tokyo University of the Arts has applied face recognition technology to develop a system in which AI = artificial intelligence creates songs that match the characteristics and atmosphere of the human face captured by the camera.

It means composing by applying more than 2000 pre-typed phrases.

One of the reasons for the development was that concerts were canceled one after another due to the spread of the infection, and Associate Professor Suguru Goto of Tokyo University of the Arts said, "I wanted to provide a new way to enjoy music with technology."

CEATEC will be open until October 23rd.
