The Federal Customs Authority has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Dubai Export Development Corporation, one of the Dubai Economic Corporation, with the aim of enhancing joint cooperation and facilitating business and trade for exporters from the Emirate of Dubai, and exchanging data and experiences between the two parties.

The memorandum was signed remotely by the Executive Director of the Customs Affairs Sector at the Federal Customs Authority, Alia Al-Marmoum, and the Executive Director of the Dubai Export Development Corporation, Engineer Saed Al-Awadi.

Alia Al Marmoom said, “The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with the Dubai Export Development Corporation comes within the framework of the authority’s keenness to strengthen partnership relations with the most prominent strategic partners in the field of foreign trade and customs work in the country, and a desire to strengthen cooperation and coordination with these partners to achieve the UAE vision 2021, and strengthen the strategy Rational government to achieve sustainable development and to assume a leading economic and customs position at the regional and global levels.

She added, "We are proud of our partnership with the Dubai Export Development Corporation, and we are happy to sign a memorandum of understanding with it, as it is the relevant authority in the Emirate of Dubai to provide export promotion and development services to the local sector and support industry in the Emirate of Dubai."

For his part, Eng. Saed Al-Awadi said, “Signing a memorandum of understanding with the Federal Customs Authority will enhance the prospects for joint cooperation, in uniting efforts to stimulate exports and the economy in general, as we are working to provide facilities and capabilities through the services provided by the institution, in addition to To the joint initiatives with our strategic partners that support economic growth, and through this cooperation, the Federal Customs Authority will contribute to helping Dubai-based companies expand and enter global markets.

The memorandum of understanding includes strengthening cooperation and coordination between the two parties in the field of exchanging data and statistics related to foreign trade, and supporting the initiative of the "Exporters Gate" to benefit from the information and electronic services provided by the portal towards discovering new markets for products and services, and facing the challenges of foreign trade at the level of the Emirate of Dubai.
