Up to now, more than 500,000 5G sites have been built, and 97% of 5G base stations have been upgraded through shared inventory, effectively saving industry investment costs and greatly improving the efficiency of 5G scale deployment.
Zhang Quan, deputy general manager of China Tower, said that China Tower is actively exploring innovative construction service models, transforming the traditional resource allocation model of unified design and unified standards, placing more emphasis on local conditions, implementing policies on demand, and changing "standard configuration" to "customization."
"my country's network speed has been at the upper-middle level in the world, and mobile communication technology has been catching up and surpassing it. It has achieved a historic leap from 1G blank, 2G following, 3G breakthrough, 4G synchronization to 5G leadership. In the next step, my country will adhere to a moderate advance Steadily promote the deployment of 5G networks.” Liu Liehong said.
Accelerate the empowerment of thousands of industries
At the Ericsson booth, the smart factory has undergone a radical change after being empowered by 5G.
According to Wang Zhong, director of the intelligent manufacturing project of Ericsson Northeast Asia, in 2020, the Ericsson Nanjing Smart Factory has launched 6 5G applications, which shortens the preparation of temporary project security monitoring from 2 days to 15 minutes; experts can remotely "visit" on-site guidance, which reduces 5% of the project cycle and one-third of the cost of expert travel; 5G drones replace manual inventory, which has increased efficiency by 50 times; production line adjustment does not require rewiring, saving millions of wiring costs.
The industrial field has always been regarded as an important force for 5G applications.
According to the on-site staff of China Telecom's booth, China Telecom's 5G application cooperation has covered ten vertical industries such as police, transportation, ecology, party building, medical care, car networking, live media, education, tourism, and manufacturing.
"China Mobile has been continuously advancing 5G technology to accelerate its integration into thousands of industries, and has established 100 5G industry application benchmarks involving all industries, and has the ability to apply 5G vertical industry applications on a large scale in 15 subdivisions. Such as 5G vehicle-road collaboration, 5G+ high-end manufacturing and 5G+ smart logistics, etc." said Zhao Dachun.
In addition, China Unicom demonstrated the application of 5G technology in many vertical fields such as industrial manufacturing, car networking, smart cities, medical care, and education.
General Technology Group demonstrated the application of 5G technology in automotive R&D, testing and production.
Wen Ku, director of the Information and Communication Development Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that my country will be in the "lead-in period" of 5G development in the next three years.
It is necessary to actively promote the in-depth integration of new generation information technologies such as 5G, Internet of Things, big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence with the real economy.
Focus on the application needs of manufacturing, energy, transportation, agriculture, education, medical and other fields, actively explore and cultivate diversified application models, and accelerate the transformation of thousands of industries to digital, networked, and intelligent.
