China News Service, October 16 According to the Ministry of Commerce website, on October 13, 2020, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) decided to review video processing equipment and its components, as well as digital smart TVs and downstream products (Certain Video Processing Devices, Components Thereof, and Digital Smart Televisions Containing the Same) initiated the 337 investigation.

The investigation was filed by DivX of the United States on September 10 in accordance with Section 337 of the "U.S. Tariff Act of 1930" to ITC, accusing the above-mentioned products exported to, imported from, or sold in the United States of infringing its patent rights and requested ITC to issue Limited exclusion orders and prohibitions.

Enterprises such as China TCL Technology Group Co., Ltd., South Korea's Samsung, LG Group and some of its affiliates are involved in the case.
