Last month, the number of employed was 27,102 thousand, down 392,000 from a year ago.



It has been declining for 7 consecutive months since last March, when the corona effect took off in earnest.



The decline in the number of employed was the greatest in four months since last May.



By age group, the number of employed persons aged 60 and over increased by 419,000, while those in their 30s decreased by 284,000 and those in their 20s decreased by 198,000.



It is interpreted as the fact that new recruitment of companies has contracted due to the re-proliferation of corona.



The number of employed by industry decreased by 225,000 in the lodging and restaurant business, 207,000 in the wholesale and retail business, and 151,000 in the education service business.



As social distancing was strengthened, there was a clear decline, mainly in the face-to-face service sector.



The number of unemployed people was 1 million, an increase of 116,000 people from a year ago, and the overall unemployment rate was 3.6%, up 0.5 percentage points from a year ago.



In particular, the unemployment rate for youth aged 15 to 29 rose 1.6 percentage points to 8.9%.



The employment rate over the age of 15 was 60.3%, the lowest in eight years in the same month.



Among the inactive population, the number of people classified as'rested' was 2413 thousand, which was the highest since the 2003 statistics as of September.
