Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) won the first place in the governmental institutions category in the 13th round of the Arab Corporate Social Responsibility Award, for the fifth time in a row, as a culmination of its efforts in the field of social responsibility.

And the award was received on behalf of the Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, ​​Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chief Happiness Officer and Head of the Authority's volunteering team, Taha Al Hamri.

Habiba Al Marashi, Chairman and CEO of the Arab Network for Corporate Social Responsibility, presented the award during the ceremony that was held recently under the patronage of the Head of the Civil Aviation Department in the Government of Ras Al Khaimah, Engineer Sheikh Salem bin Sultan bin Saqr Al Qasimi, and in the presence of a group of leaders in the field of corporate social responsibility .

Saeed Al Tayer expressed his happiness that the authority won the first place in the governmental institutions category in the Arab Corporate Social Responsibility Award for the fifth time in a row.

He said: “The wise leadership in the UAE has established solid foundations for social responsibility within the framework of a system that includes developing plans, implementation and evaluation, and we have witnessed the results achieved by this system during the exceptional circumstances to confront the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, as governmental and private institutions assume their responsibilities towards society.”

He continued: “The community initiatives launched by the authority are an integral part of its strategic plan and its efforts in community service, and between 2013 and 2019, the authority launched 330 community initiatives.”
