“Following the meeting, the ministers approved the roadmap for energy cooperation between the BRICS countries until 2025, which became the first comprehensive document that fixed the agreed plans for the development of the energy dialogue of the five countries,” the message says.

Also, the energy ministers "adopted a communiqué of the meeting, in which, among other things, they confirmed their intention to strengthen the strategic partnership in energy and energy security, noted the important role of all types of energy, including fossil sources and nuclear energy."

In addition, the ministers "confirmed that the energy transition must correspond to national conditions and each country must determine the optimal policy, avoiding the imposition of models that are not suitable for the BRICS countries." 

Earlier it was reported that the Russian Ministry of Energy, together with interested organizations, will hold the BRICS Energy Week on October 10-16.
