China News Service, Beijing, October 13 (Reporter Xia Bin) "I'm very excited. After all, the first batch of winnings (digital RMB red envelopes) was only 50,000 people. I am very happy to be one in 50,000!" Recently, Shenzhen and the People's Bank of China launched a pilot digital renminbi red envelope, which issued 10 million digital renminbi red envelopes to individuals in Shenzhen, with a total of 50,000. Huang Leijin became the lucky one to win the red envelope.

According to official information, a total of 1,913,847 individuals in Shenzhen made an appointment to draw digital RMB red envelopes, and the final "winning rate" was only 2.6%.

So, what is the experience of winning the digital RMB red envelope?

Recalling the appointment process, Huang Leijin told a reporter from Chinanews.com that the application process is very convenient. She operates on the subway and the whole journey takes less than 3 minutes.

On the "iShenzhen" app, there is a lottery entry on the homepage. Click on it and register your name, ID number, mobile phone number, and verification code, and then select the receiving bank.

What impressed her most is that the lottery has no restrictions on household registration, as long as applicants are geographically located in Shenzhen during the application period, they can participate.

"It's amazing, I really understand what it means to be a Shenzhen native!" Huang Leijin said.

In fact, individuals who participate in the appointment of red envelopes only need to meet two conditions: one is that the geographical location of the appointment is within the administrative area of Shenzhen (including the Shenzhen-Shantou Special Cooperation Zone); the other is to use a mobile phone number in mainland China and the second generation Resident ID card for appointment registration.

Individuals who have won the lottery can spend from 18:00 on October 12 to 24:00 on October 18 at 3389 merchants that have completed the digital RMB system transformation in Luohu District, Shenzhen. The merchants cover shopping malls, supermarkets, daily retail, catering consumption, Life services and other categories.

At present, most of the merchants in the large shopping malls such as Vientiane City and kkmall in Luohu District have completed the system transformation. The merchants who have completed the transformation have placed the unified logo of "digital RMB" at the checkout counter or information counter. This logo has been combined with UnionPay. Two-dimensional code, WeChat payment, etc. appeared together in a prominent position.

Huang Leijin intends to buy some commemorative things with red envelopes, but has not yet figured out what to buy.

"It may be Shenzhen's landmark models, travel guide books, and cultural and creative products of Shenzhen city elements."

This time the "red envelope campaign" made Shenzhen once again a national model.

The "Implementation Plan for the Pilot Comprehensive Reform of Shenzhen's Construction of a Pilot Demonstration Zone of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics (2020-2025)" was released recently, which clearly mentions support for the internal closed pilot test of the digital renminbi, and promotes the development and application of digital renminbi and international cooperation.

Wu Fengheng, founder and executive director of MoChain Technology, told reporters from Chinanews.com that the significance of this event is to promote consumption through red envelopes on the one hand and stimulate domestic demand; on the other hand, it also conducts closed tests on the use of digital renminbi in retail scenarios.

"Whether it is in terms of the number of users participating in the test or the usage scenarios, it is closer to the definition of digital renminbi as a replacement for M0 (cash in circulation). I think this is before the official launch of the digital currency of the People's Bank of China, which has practical reference significance. One of the tests." Wu Fengheng said.

He believes that the launch of digital renminbi wallets will allow more people to have access to digital renminbi, which is conducive to the popularization of the concept of digital renminbi and the promotion of digital renminbi wallets.

Digital RMB involves the application of concepts such as credible timestamp, traceability, and anonymity in blockchain technology, which once again reflects the important role of blockchain technology in the national economy.

Wu Fengheng also reminded that this test has a larger scale than previous tests, and the usage method is closer to the retail scene. In terms of technology, in addition to the risk control of the three links of issuance, release and circulation, it can also be used to carry out currency circulation big data. Statistics and analysis have important reference significance for the upgrading of China's industrial structure.

Fan Yifei, the deputy governor of the People's Bank of China, previously emphasized in an article that the digital renminbi is mainly positioned at M0 and is a public product provided by the central bank to the public. Interest is not calculated and the central bank does not charge for services such as exchange and circulation.

At the same time, from the perspective of M0's management rules, the issuance and circulation of digital renminbi must be regulated in accordance with cash.

Wu Fengheng suggested that in the future, the promotion of digital renminbi needs to be extra cautious and steady.

In terms of regional promotion, it should be intensively cultivated in the region and then deployed nationwide. In terms of promotion, it can be a top-down promotion, which is conducive to rapid deployment, or it can conform to market needs and respect users' choices.
