Although new chairman Chung has already commanded the entire group two years ago, with the official opening of the'Era of Jeong Eui-seon' today, the Hyundai Motor Group replaced the total number in 20 years.



Hyundai Motor Groups such as Hyundai Motor Company and Hyundai Mobis held an extraordinary board meeting this morning and approved the appointment of new Chairman Chung.



Accordingly, the new Chairman Chung became the head of the group, two years and one month after being promoted to the group's senior vice chairman in September 2018, and seven months after becoming the chairman of the Hyundai Motors board of directors in March this year.



Born in 1970, Senior Vice Chairman Chung graduated from the Department of Business Administration at Whimoon High School and Korea University, and then studied at the San Francisco Business School in the United States.



Starting with the head of the purchasing department and sales support division of Hyundai Motors in 1999, he served as the vice president of the planning division of Hyundai-Kia Motors (vice president), the president of Kia Motors, the president of the planning division of Hyundai Motor Group, and the president of Hyundai Mobis.



The process of handing over the Hyundai Motor Group's baton to the newly appointed Chairman Chung has already progressed.



New Chairman Chung, who was promoted from Hyundai Motors Vice Chairman to Group Senior Vice Chairman in 2018, took over as CEO of Hyundai Motors and Hyundai Mobis in March of last year, and took over as Chairman of the Hyundai Motors Board of Directors in March this year.
