China News Agency, Beijing, October 12 (Reporter Yan Xiaohong) GM China disclosed on the 12th that in the third quarter of this year, GM’s retail sales in the Chinese market exceeded 771,400 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 12%.

  General Motors said that as the overall auto market in China gradually picks up, its brands have shown a strong upward trend.

Among them, the market performance of luxury cars, medium and large SUVs (sports utility vehicles) and MPV (multipurpose vehicles) models is particularly outstanding.

  The Buick brand sold more than 250,000 vehicles in the third quarter, up 26% year-on-year, further deepening the layout of the SUV segment.

  The Cadillac brand sold more than 65,000 vehicles, an increase of 28% year-on-year.

In July, Cadillac announced the expansion of the application of the super-intelligent driving system in the Chinese market in an attempt to create a smart driving experience for Chinese consumers.

  The Baojun brand actively promotes the application and popularization of electric vehicles. Its four existing pure electric vehicles sold more than 10,000 in the third quarter.

  In the third quarter, the Wuling brand sold more than 270,000 vehicles, an increase of 26% year-on-year, and continued to lead the mini-commercial vehicle market.

  GM has so far launched more than 10 new energy models in the Chinese market.

In the first three quarters of this year, the cumulative sales of new energy vehicles under General Motors doubled year-on-year.

General Motors said that more than 40% of new products launched in China in the next five years will be new energy vehicles, and it will continue to move towards the goal of "zero emissions."
