The General Administration of Customs in Abu Dhabi launched a package of new incentives and facilities to support importers and partners, within the framework of Abu Dhabi government's initiatives, which aim to support vital sectors and companies, especially small and medium ones, with the aim of developing services provided to customers and increasing competitiveness in international trade.

The incentives and facilities include "the possibility of replacing bank guarantees with institutional guarantees for partners approved by the General Administration of Abu Dhabi Customs", according to the procedures and laws followed, with the aim of easing the financial burden on companies, and they are approved based on criteria according to the size of the company's operations, revenues and commitment, in addition to "freedom and smooth movement of goods. Between the free zones and customs warehouses and supervising them electronically », as the ownership of the deposited goods or part thereof by the company may be transferred to another company within the free zone, and the goods can also be transferred between customs warehouses in the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States, in addition to allowing the remaining of the deposited goods In customs warehouses, one calendar year (365 days), and the deposit period does not exceed three calendar years, and customs duties are payable after the end of the period.

It also included «the provision of simple electronic procedures for clearing customs data at the ports of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi», with the aim of absolving and settling 100% electronic (transit) data restrictions between the emirate’s ports, in addition to providing smart customs services that enable customers to easily and flexibly submit customs data. Through the multiplicity of channels through which customs services are provided to dealers, which are a platform, al-Maqta gate, Abu Dhabi system, Abu Dhabi payment, in addition to accepting copies of invoices and a certificate of origin without having to bring the original and without paying a deposit of 1000 dirhams for each document.

The Director General of the General Administration of Abu Dhabi Customs, Rashid Lahej Al-Mansoori, said, “Abu Dhabi Customs has consistently established a new approach in the customs work system, by launching many initiatives and qualitative projects that aim to raise the level of customs work and increase competitiveness in international trade. The level of other customs administrations in the region, with the aim of attracting more investments and strategic projects that would contribute directly to enhancing international trade, and achieving the vision of Abu Dhabi Customs, by strengthening cooperation with strategic partners and dealers.
