Indra

, the Spanish multinational that offers consulting, defense, energy and telecommunications services, has announced that "

a collective dismissal procedure

" at its subsidiary Indra Soluciones Tecnológicas de la Información.

This is reflected in a statement from the company itself that Vozpopuli has advanced.

The layoffs

will affect all the centers of the subsidiary, which has 13,000 employees in Spain

.

The company has not specified how many workers it will affect or if the process will become an ERE and recalls that a collective dismissal procedure is necessary by law to make changes to the workforce that affect more than 30 people;

since the company has more than 300 workers.

After the announcement, Indra

rose 1.96% in the stock market, standing

out in the upper part of the market this Friday.

From the

CGT

union they

highlight in a statement that "it is striking that the ERE communication takes place days after the company sends an email congratulating the workers for their effort and professionalism."

The organization also denounces that the situation is not new since "just six months ago

Indra tried to carry out an ERTE

" despite having no justification.

CGT recalls that the company "had plenty of liquid money to face the COVID-19 crisis" and that in recent months Indra has been awarded contracts that it described as "historic".

In September 2019, the Government elected the Spanish company as the national coordinator of the FCAS project, which will replace the Eurofighter.

Indra's largest shareholder is the State, through SEPI

with an 18.75% stake.

Then there is Banca March, which controls 11.324%.

Results

The latest results presented by the company show a

loss of 78 million euros

due to the covid.

However, the firm said it has a

liquidity of 1,100 million

between assets and credit lines.

Likewise, during the first quarter of the year,

contracting increased 8%

and the total value of its portfolio reached 5,094 million, driven by the growth of the Defense sector.
