The Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority reported an increase in the turnout of citizens to work in new sectors during the year 2019, which were not previously very popular, namely the non-profit sector, the foreign sector, and the diplomatic corps sector.

In a recent report, the authority indicated that there was a significant increase in the number of citizens working in non-profit organizations in the country, as their number increased from 946 male and female citizens in 2018 to 2,832 citizens during 2019, an increase of nearly 200%.

The report, of which Emirates Today obtained a copy, indicated that the number of citizens working in the foreign sector increased from 967 male and female citizens in 2018 to 1,128 male and female citizens in 2019, an increase of 16.6%.

He pointed out that the number of female citizens working in the foreign sector exceeds the number of males by 63.5%, as 700 women work in the sector, compared to 428 men in 2019, while about 599 male and 368 male citizens worked in the sector in 2018, to increase the number of women in the sector. Over men in 2018, at a rate of 62.7%.

The authority revealed that the number of citizens working in the diplomatic corps rose to 78 citizens, including 10 female citizens during the past year, compared to 69 citizens during the previous year, an increase of 13%.

She explained that the number of male citizens working in the sector of non-profit enterprises reached 2,296 citizens during the past year, compared to 561 citizens in the previous year, while the number of female citizens in the sector reached 536, compared to 385 during the comparison period.

The Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority revealed in the Labor Force Survey 2019, that the number of citizens working in the federal, local government, private sector, and joint governmental and private sectors reached 349 thousand and 876 citizens by the end of last year, compared to 313,843 men and women in the previous year, with an increase 36 thousand and 33 male and female citizens in just one year, an increase of 11.5%.
