According to data released by the General Administration of Customs, in the first eight months of this year, the import and export value of my country's comprehensive protection zone was 2.03 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.7%, which was 16.3 percentage points higher than the national foreign trade import and export growth rate, and accounted for the total national foreign trade import and export value. 10.1%, contributing more than 30% to my country’s foreign trade growth.
Up to now, there were 5,452 newly registered enterprises in the 144 comprehensive protection zones nationwide during the year, an increase of 13.3%, and 3170 active import and export enterprises, an increase of 26.5%, making positive contributions to stabilizing the basic foreign trade and employment.

In the first eight months of this year, the import and export value of the comprehensive protection zone in the central and western regions increased by 26.2%, which contributed 6.6 percentage points to the 8% overall growth rate of foreign trade in the central and western regions and accounted for nearly 30% of the central and western foreign trade.
On the basis of expanding and strengthening the traditional manufacturing industry, my country's comprehensive bonded zone actively expands new business formats and promotes diversified development. The productive service industries such as financial leasing, R&D and design, inspection and maintenance, and futures bonded delivery are growing rapidly.
Since the beginning of this year, there have been 23 new R&D institutions nationwide, mostly in industries such as biomedicine and electronic products.
In addition, testing centers, bulk commodity trading platforms, and cultural art trading platforms have successively settled in the comprehensive protection zone, and the diversified development pattern of the comprehensive protection zone has taken shape.
In order to promote the high-level opening and high-quality development of comprehensive bonded areas, the General Administration of Customs has actively promoted the integration and optimization of special customs supervision areas, and promoted the transformation of various types of eligible special customs supervision areas into comprehensive bonded areas.
Since the beginning of this year, the State Council has approved the integration and optimization of 26 other types of special customs supervision areas, including Tianjin Dongjiang, into comprehensive bonded areas.
Up to now, there are 144 comprehensive protection zones nationwide, accounting for 91.7% of the total number of special customs supervision zones.
