“On what basis does Poland fine Gazprom for Nord Stream 2, which, firstly, is not yet completed, and, secondly, how did it prevent the Poles, what interests were infringed upon? .. We will categorically oppose ", - said Dzhabarov.

At the same time, the senator expressed confidence that the gas pipeline project will be implemented, despite such decisions of the regulators.

“We will complete this project anyway: both the German and Russian sides are interested in it.

What has not already been invented ... to impose sanctions against Nord Stream 2.

There will be Nord Stream 2, and I am sure of that, ”Dzhabarov said.

Earlier, the Polish Office for the Protection of Competition and Consumers (UOKiK) decided to fine Gazprom and five European companies cooperating with it for the construction of Nord Stream 2.

It is specified that the partner companies were fined $ 100 million, Gazprom - $ 7.6 billion.

UOKiK believes that the agreements on financing the construction of the gas pipeline concluded by Gazprom with five partners gave them, bypassing the antimonopoly legislation of Poland, the opportunity to become the owners of shares in the project company Nord Stream 2 AG, wholly owned by the Russian concern.
