The CEO of the "Ras Al-Khaimah Ceramics Company", Abdullah Massad, confirmed that the prices of local ceramics are stable in the market, and they have not witnessed an increase so far as reported.

The CEO of the company, which is one of the largest ceramic producers in the region, added to "Emirates Today" that the decision of the Gulf Cooperation Council to impose dumping duties on ceramic imports from India and China aims to protect the local product and provide fair competition in the local market. However, the decision did not affect the prices of ceramics produced by national companies in the local market.

Massad explained that the decision may lead to an increase in the prices of cheap ceramics imported from China and India, as a result of imposing dumping duties.

On the other hand, a responsible source told "Emirates Today", that the decision to impose dumping duties on imports of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, including the Emirates of ceramics, from India and China, came as a result of the dumped prices at which ceramics were sold in the UAE and Gulf markets, considering that they Unfair prices, causing great damage to the local product.

The countries of the "Cooperation Council" imposed dumping duties on their imports of ceramics from China and India, last June, to protect local production, based on a complaint filed by the Saudi Ceramic Company. After investigations were conducted to verify the validity of the complaint, the decision was taken.
