Among them, the sales of welfare lottery agencies were 13.25 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 1.356 billion yuan, a decrease of 9.3%; the sales of sports lottery agencies were 21.529 billion yuan, an increase of 2.053 billion yuan, an increase of 10.5%.
From January to August, the total sales of lottery tickets nationwide totaled 194.827 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 84.583 billion yuan or 30.3%.
Among them, sales of welfare lottery institutions were 87.974 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 39.434 billion yuan, a decrease of 31.0%; sales of sports lottery institutions were 106.853 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 45.149 billion yuan, a decrease of 29.7%.
In August, the sales of lotto digital lottery tickets were 21.936 billion yuan, an increase of 3.137 billion yuan or 16.7% year-on-year; the sales of guessing lottery tickets were 10.24 billion yuan, an increase of 18 million yuan or 0.2% year-on-year; the sales of instant lottery tickets were 2.589 billion yuan. A year-on-year increase of 398 million yuan, an increase of 18.2%; sales of video-type lottery tickets were 0.0006 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 2.854 billion yuan, a decrease of 100.0%; Keno-type lottery sales were 13 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 20 million yuan, a decrease of 15.6%.
In August, the sales volume of lottery lottery, quiz, instant, video, and Keno accounted for 63.1%, 29.4%, 7.4%, 0.0%, and 0.1% of the total lottery sales respectively.
From January to August, the sales of lotto digital lottery tickets totaled 134.581 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 14.559 billion yuan, a decrease of 9.8%; the sales of guessing lottery tickets were 36.632 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 44.070 billion yuan, a decrease of 54.6%; the sales of instant lottery tickets were 167.56 billion. From January to August, the sales of lotto numbers, quiz, instant, video, and Keno accounted for 69.0%, 18.8%, 8.6%, 3.5%, and 0.1% of the total lottery sales.
In August, compared with the same period last year, lottery sales in 19 provinces across the country increased. Among them, Guangdong, Jiangsu and Yunnan increased more, with an increase of 284 million, 216 million and 187 million respectively year-on-year.
From January to August, compared with the same period of the previous year, lottery sales in 30 provinces across the country declined.
The Ministry of Finance pointed out that lottery agencies at all levels should closely follow up and analyze new situations and new problems, and effectively strengthen lottery issuance and sales to ensure the smooth operation of the market.
Financial departments at all levels should further strengthen supervision, actively create a good external environment, maintain the normal order of the market, and promote the healthy development of the lottery industry.
