An experiment is starting in the North and in Paris on a tax credit on home help, which aims to simplify the declaration of individual employers.

Instead of advancing the costs themselves, individuals will benefit from their tax relief in real time.

This system should be generalized in 2022.

A tax credit system is being tested in the North and in Paris.

This CESU system aims to simplify the declaration of individuals who employ a home help.

Instead of advancing the costs themselves, individuals will benefit from a tax reduction in real time.

Retired in the Lille region, Marc, for example, employs a housekeeper three hours a week.

When he declares the number of hours worked each month, the CESU will now automatically calculate the tax credit from which he benefits.

He therefore only pays the net amount of the remainder, the salary plus the contributions, divided by 2. No need to wait the following year to receive the reimbursement of this tax credit.

"With the new system we will immediately have the tax credit. What we actually pay will be much more visible", explains Marc.

Objective: to reduce moonlighting

This real-time tax credit is a simplified system that should appeal to more employers.

Its main objective is to reduce moonlighting.

"You will advance less cash to have an employee declared at your home. I think this will lead to a boom in enlightened employment. We will also create net employment, which we really need at the moment" , details Marie Béatrice Levaux, president of a federation of private employers.

According to Olivier Dussopt, Minister for Public Accounts, this system, once generalized in 2022, should generate the creation of 200,000 home help jobs.
