At the microphone of Europe 1 Sunday, a few hours in particular from the entry into force of the order closing cafes and restaurants in Aix-en-Provence and Marseille, Bernard Marty, the president of the Union des métiers et des hospitality industries (Umih) of Bouches-du-Rhône, advises professionals not to defy the prohibition, at the risk of ending up in court.

INTERVIEW

In Marseille, cafes and restaurants had their last weekend before having to lower their curtains for two weeks, as provided for in the new health measures to fight Covid-19, presented Thursday evening by Olivier Véran, the Minister of health.

After having raised a rant in recent days, supported by many local elected officials, traders now appear resigned.

"I advise professionals to take the risk of remaining open," thus launches at the microphone of Europe 1 Bernard Marty, the president of the Union of trades and industries of the hotel trade (Umih) of Bouches-du-Rhône.

"The risk is great for the restaurateur, the cafeteria, the hotelier individually. Because when we have made the choice to remain open, we do not come to see the union of restaurateurs. Me, I do not want to see my friends in court are very upset with what might happen to them, ”he explains.

"I ask my members not to take this risk", adds the leader of Umih des Bouches-du-Rhône.

"We will take legal steps"

"My goal is to create the conditions not to close", continues this trade unionist, ensuring that the Umih intends to explore all possible avenues to allow professionals to reopen as quickly as possible.

"We will take legal or physical steps. They will be seen in the coming days. Even closed, we do not let our guard down," he said.

"We must say the following: if we are closed, we have even more time to demonstrate and to express ourselves!", Warns Bernard Marty.
