Iranian President Hassan Rouhani announced new containment measures to stem the rapid increase in contamination.

Hassan Rohani called for action to be taken against people who do not wear masks.
Likewise, he authorized the governors to take containment measures in certain regions where the situation has become critical.
This is particularly the case for the provinces of Qom, Tehran and Isfahan.
Finally, he announced that religious ceremonies were banned across the country for the fortieth day of the anniversary of the death of Imam Hussein, the third successor of the prophet revered by Shia Muslims.
The number of people infected has increased sharply in recent days.
The authorities are issuing the warnings to the population as the number of deaths has exceeded 25,000 people.
The Iranian capital is particularly affected since more than 60% of hospitalizations of patients affected by Covid-19 are in Tehran.
Iran is the country most affected by the pandemic in the Middle East and the failure to respect distancing and the wearing of masks by the population is worsening the situation.
