  • Railways: This is Ouigo, the new French low-cost bird that will arrive in Spain in March 2021

The new French

'low cost

'

high-speed train

service

that will compete with Renfe, Ouigo, is putting 10,000 tickets on sale today to travel from Barcelona to Madrid

for just 1 euro

, to celebrate its arrival in Spain.

To get one of these passes, you just have to register on the Ouigo Spain website and access it from 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 24.

From that date you can get a bonus per person by

simply paying 1 euro

and allowing the company to inform you of its news and promotions.

When the service starts up in March 2021, the vouchers will be exchanged for

a trip between Barcelona and Madrid or vice versa.

If you want more bills, there is nothing to worry about.

For just under half the price of a trip by AVE you can ride a double-decker train from Ouigo.

This was stated by

Helene Valenzuela, general director of Ouigo Spain

, in an interview with EL MUNDO, where she assured that they will adapt "prices to all pockets because the customer will

build their ticket according to the rate:

if you only want comfortable transportation, you will always have the best offer from the market, always ".

AVE 'low cost'

Ouigo

plans to compete with

Renfe

in high speed with a low-cost offer imported from the south of the Pyrenees.

There the French subsidiary firm

SNCF

has been operating a passenger rail transport model similar to those that are promoted by airlines such as Ryanair or EasyJet.

The prices of the tickets in Ouigo

range between 10 and 25 euros,

at times of more passenger traffic it is more intense.

To achieve this, they have reduced costs to the maximum and have increased the number of seats on their double-decker trains.

Renfe has not remained idle, after the announcement of the irruption in Spain of

Ouigo

, its French rival, opted to launch its own

'low cost' AVE service, AVLO

.

Its start-up is on hold due to the pandemic.
