'Virtual Departure Travel Products', which only stay over Jeju Island by plane and return to their home country, are gaining popularity in Taiwan.

The Korea Tourism Organization announced on the 14th that it has launched'Jeju Virtual Departure Travel Early Bird Promotion', jointly organized with Taiwanese medium-sized travel agency Easy Fly and Taiwanese airline Tiger Air.

The product was priced at 6,888 Taiwan dollars (about 280,000 won), and it was sold out in 4 minutes as soon as it was released at noon on the 11th.

And last Saturday, an aircraft carrying 120 Taiwanese tourists who purchased this product took off from Taoyuan International Airport at 11:30 am and arrived over Jeju.

However, without landing, I went around Jeju for 20 minutes, and then returned to Taipei at 3 PM.

The travel agency held events such as Korean play experiences for passengers before departure, and learning the Jeju dialect on board.

In-flight meals were prepared with chicken and beer, which are also known locally as a Korean wave drama, and some tourists appeared wearing hanbok according to the travel theme and attracted attention.

With COVID-19 restricting movement around the world, this product is expected to continue to be popular as an attractive temporary solution for those who are thirsty for overseas travel.

In addition, airlines that are struggling with a decline in passengers are also making active use of this trend. On the 17th, Qantas Airways of Australia launched a flight back to Sydney from Sydney Airport, Australia. Passengers on this flight will fly for a total of 7 hours and enjoy some of Australia's leading destinations, including Queensland and the Gold Coast.

In Korea, Air Busan departed Gimhae International Airport for the first time on the 10th with students from the Department of Aviation Tourism at Uiduk University and flew over the country and operated an aircraft returning.
