[Commentary] On September 21, the State Council Information Office held a press conference to introduce the postal express industry's assistance in poverty alleviation.

At the meeting, Ma Junsheng, director of the State Post Bureau, said that in recent years, the State Post Bureau has continuously promoted the sinking of the rural postal express network and built a network system that covers urban and rural areas and benefits the whole people.

At present, all the organic villages in China have realized direct mail.

At present, 100% of the country's (China) rural towns have established post offices, 100% of the administrative (organized) villages have achieved direct mail, and 97% of the towns have courier service outlets.

In the past year, the processing volume of express delivery in rural areas exceeded 15 billion. From January to August this year (2020), this number reached 20 billion. The growth rate of express delivery in rural areas exceeded that of cities by more than 10%.

[Explanation] Ma Junsheng said that the State Post Bureau will make good use of the postal infrastructure network such as rural post offices and village-level service stations to further help fight poverty.

One should focus on leveraging the advantages of the three-level network of postal counties and villages. On the basis of statutory general postal services, through our outlets, networks and service points, we need to superimpose our government, police, tax and other convenient agency services (Enhancement) Service function.

Second, we must work hard on the (delivery) logistics network.

Third, we can use this network to deliver postal financial services to the farmer brothers.

The fourth is to focus on cultivating rural targeted poverty alleviation projects and poverty alleviation experts, and use models to drive the region out of poverty and become rich.

[Explanation] Ma Junsheng introduced that in recent years, the postal express industry has expanded its recruitment efforts in poor areas and promoted the return of employees to their hometowns to start businesses. The number of new jobs increased by more than 200,000 each year.

Since 2014, our industry has solved more than 1.5 million jobs in rural areas.

In the first eight months of this year (2020) alone, our industry has created 150,000 new jobs in the vast rural areas and helped 100,000 poor households in 504 national-level poor counties increase their income by more than 100 million yuan. The industry should be valuable.

The wages of many express delivery companies are higher than the local average level, forming a good situation of "employment for one person and poverty alleviation for the whole family".

[Explanation] Ma Junsheng emphasized that in the next step, the State Post Bureau will continue to increase employment positions, provide vocational skills training, and encourage courier brothers to return to their hometowns to start businesses and improve the working and living environment.

[Explanation] In addition, we will continue to stabilize the industrial support for poverty alleviation, ensure that the poverty alleviation task is completed on schedule, and make a good connection for the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy.
