Dubai Statistics Center: Investment and private villas acquire 78.5%

Completion of 1,867 buildings containing 13,000 housing units in Dubai within 7 months

Data revealed by the Dubai Statistics Center, issued by Dubai Municipality, showed that the total number of buildings completed in the emirate during the first seven months of this year reached 1867 new buildings, of which 252 were new buildings in July alone.

According to data obtained by Emirates Today, the number of housing units that were included in these buildings completed during the seven-month period amounted to 13,146 housing units.

The new buildings were distributed between January and July 2020 between 842 buildings for private villas, 623 buildings for investment villas, 225 multi-storey buildings, 99 industrial buildings and 78 public buildings.

Private villas topped the list of completed buildings between January and July 2020, acquiring 45.1%, followed by investment villas with a share of 33.4%, then multi-storey buildings 12.1%, while the share of industrial buildings was 5.3%, and public buildings 4.2%.

Investment and private villas accounted for 78.5% of the number of buildings completed between January and July 2019, registering 1,465 buildings.

The center explained that the aforementioned numbers are the buildings completed in areas under Dubai Municipality during the specified period.

It is noteworthy that the number of buildings completed in Dubai in 2019 amounted to 6665 new buildings, with a total value of 36 billion and 114 million dirhams, with a growth rate of 6%.
