Recently, the US retail giant Wal-Mart began testing drones to deliver groceries on demand.

According to foreign media reports, Wal-Mart and Flytrex, a drone delivery company, have launched a pilot project in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

According to the design, the groceries and household necessities ordered by consumers are put into blue shopping bags by shop assistants and put into the express box hung under the drone. The drone receives instructions from the cloud system and flies over the open space in front of the customer’s house. Hover, and then put the shopping bag containing the goods on the ground via the rope to complete the delivery process of the goods from the Wal-Mart store to the customer, and to prevent the consignee from being swept by the drone rotor.

The UAV used by Wal-Mart for on-demand delivery will be larger than ordinary consumer models, and the load will not exceed 3 kilograms each time at the beginning of the test.

Wal-Mart did not announce the duration of the test.
