Dubai South Real Estate announced that its investments in developing its "residential" project, which is dedicated to staff housing, have reached 500 million dirhams.

The company stated in a statement that residents of “Sakani” benefit from the latest features that include self-cooking facilities, and a dining hall that can accommodate more than 2,000 people at one time. Each building has been provided with a multi-purpose hall, and squares characterized by beautiful landscapes, as well as Bicycle spaces and covered bus parking.

She added that there is a sports complex in the project that includes football and "cricket" fields, in addition to two badminton courts, others for basketball, and the same for volleyball, noting that all these facilities can be used 24 hours a day.

According to the statement, ample parking spaces for cars and buses are also available, capable of accommodating all residents and visitors' vehicles after the recent expansion.

Moreover, this exceptional project provides its residents with free Wi-Fi service in all buildings, allowing them to communicate with their families abroad.

The compound can be accessed from two separate gates, for free zone companies and non-affiliated companies respectively, and they are fully monitored by cameras, to ensure the safety of all residents.

The project features a women-only building, with a grocery store inside the building.

The project was reinforced with a fully centralized air-conditioning system to improve ventilation, which distinguishes it from other projects devoted to labor accommodation in Dubai, and is fully consistent with the health and safety guidelines in force at Expo 2020 Dubai, to serve as an ideal place for workers at the exhibition site.

A retail mall will be opened within the project, which includes a "grand supermarket", four restaurants, a cafeteria, a hair salon, a pharmacy, a clinic, stores for electronic devices and mobile phones, and a money exchange, all of which will provide an added and distinct value that guarantees residents a unique lifestyle.

The number of residents in the project currently reaches 7,000 people, which represents an occupancy rate of approximately 80% in 10 buildings, all equipped with medical isolation rooms, to ensure the safety of residents.

The second phase of the project was finally launched to provide 900 additional rooms in six new buildings with the latest designs, to meet the demand from the customers.

"When the (Covid-19) pandemic emerged, many companies became aware of the importance of health and safety, and dealing with it with the utmost importance when securing residency for employees," said Mohammed Al-Awadi of Dubai South Real Estate.

He added that "building a complex for this purpose, while providing the best environment, will contribute to enhancing the capabilities, commitment and vitality of workers, as well as raise their productivity, and these are the priorities that the Dubai South region has taken into account from the first day of the start of the (residential) development."
