  According to Li Ying, the first-level inspector of the Information Technology Development Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China's digital economy has reached 35.8 trillion yuan in value added in 2019, accounting for 36.2% of GDP, and has become an important support for high-quality economic development.   Zhejiang is a major province in the digital economy and is deeply advancing the "No. 1 Project" of the digital economy.

The deputy governor of Zhejiang Province, Mr. Xingfu, introduced that as of the end of June this year, 5G base stations had been built and delivered in the province, which was the fastest construction speed in China; the added value of the core industries of Zhejiang’s digital economy was 2.9 trillion yuan in the first half of this year, a year-on-year increase. An increase of 9.4%, the contribution rate of the province’s GDP reached 25.6%.

  Ningbo is the starting place for the development of Zhejiang's digital economy and the permanent site of the World Digital Economy Conference.

At the opening ceremony, 50 projects with a total investment of about 33.6 billion yuan were signed. The projects involved integrated circuits, 5G demonstration applications, industrial Internet platforms, intelligent transformation and other key areas of the digital economy.

  Among them, the Ningbo Municipal People's Government will jointly promote the development of Ningbo's "new infrastructure" with China Mobile.

Supported by Ningbo's location in the Yangtze River Delta, the project will accelerate the construction of the city's new infrastructure and accelerate the development of emerging industries in key areas such as digital government affairs, medical health, and smart logistics.
