Nearly 200 employees of the tour operator TUI France gathered on Tuesday in front of the headquarters in Levallois (Hauts-de-Seine), to protest against the social plan, announced Lazare Razkallah, CGT secretary of the social and economic committee (CSE), specifying that 60 of the 65 French agencies were affected by the strike.

"90 vendors from provincial agencies came to demonstrate," he said.

For its part, the management of TUI France has identified 150 striking employees in total (out of 904 employees).

“The negotiations are not progressing.

The request of all the unions (CGT, CFE-CGC, FO, CFDT) for mediation was rejected by the management ”, specifies Lazare Razkallah.

Nearly 600 jobs threatened

"The social dialogue is continuing" and "the management of TUI France has accepted favorable changes in the conditions of departure and support with the union representatives," said the latter, referring to an "increase in reclassification leave for those over 50 from 8 to 9 months ”and an increase“ in the training budget for retraining from 6,000 to 10,000 euros ”.

Regarding the CSE's request for an increase in "the overall envelope provided for the PSE of 30 million euros, this is not possible, the budget is very constrained", according to management.

"The PSE concerns 317 positions out of 904 employees, excluding the potential impact in the network of integrated agencies (266 positions)", TUI France recalled.

For the unions, “nearly 600 jobs” are threatened, given the transfers of agencies.

Several takeover offers

The French branch of the German tourism giant TUI also claims to have "received many expressions of interest with regard to its network of integrated agencies", with "possible transfers for agency employees" potentially taken back.

These offers should be known on September 18.

The unions are demanding the same conditions as in the previous social plan, in 2017, i.e. supra-legal compensation (1 month per year of seniority), 12 months of reclassification leave (instead of 6) for those under 50 and 18 months (instead of 9) for those over 50.

On September 14, the unions are due to meet with the group's management in Brussels by videoconference, Lazare Razkallah said.
