The employment rate for those aged 15 to 64, which is the comparison standard of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), was 65.9%, down 1.1 percentage points from the previous year.



It is also the lowest in 7 years since 2013 (64.8%) as of August.



The economically active population was 2,7949,000, down 267,000 from the same month last year.



The number of inactive economically active populations was 16,864,000, an increase of 534,000 from the same month last year.



The number of unemployed people increased by 6,000 to 864,000.



The unemployment rate rose 0.1 percentage points to 3.1%, the highest since August 2018 (4.0%).
