Dubai Economy announced its cooperation with the "Noon" shopping platform, with the aim of supporting young Emirati entrepreneurs who hold a "merchant" license, concerned with licensing managed projects through social media and the Internet.

A statement issued yesterday stated that the cooperation allows "Tajer" license holders to display their products, as part of the "Noon Local" program of "Noon", to facilitate access to the largest number of dealers.

The statement emphasized that the launch of "Noon Local" comes within the framework of the two parties ’keenness to enhance e-commerce, provide an ideal environment for the growth of innovative projects, and take advantage of the promising opportunities provided by the Emirate of Dubai in the e-commerce sector.

"Noon local"

"Noon Local" is a program launched by the "Noon" website and app, to support Emirati startup owners to start their businesses and realize their dreams.

It aims to develop and refine their skills, and grow their business through e-commerce.

The program guarantees full support to young Emiratis, by providing sales analysis services, content creation, and marketing campaigns for their projects.

Youth support

Omar Al-Muhairi, Director of the Development and Follow-up Department in the Commercial Registration and Licensing Sector at Dubai Economy, said that the youth segment is a key axis in the comprehensive economic development process that Dubai is achieving, pointing out that, through the license of a "trader" and cooperation with "Noon", we We focus on supporting young Emiratis, and providing an attractive environment for those with creative ideas, to transform them into successful future projects that contribute to the growth of the national economy, as well as motivate them to expand in the field of business, through successful innovative projects.

He added, "We have launched the (Merchant) license, which is issued electronically, in the context of ensuring the promotion of e-commerce and the competitiveness of the emirate's economy, as well as achieving the government's vision of digital transformation, and building awareness about platforms that facilitate the conduct of commercial activities."

Al Muhairi affirmed the success of the Emirate of Dubai, thanks to its advanced logistical structure, and the remarkable popularity of the Internet, in consolidating the smart transformation and turning it into a successful approach, as the Fourth Industrial Revolution promoted the adoption of e-commerce as an exceptional model for doing business.

For his part, Mansour Al-Ghurair, from Noon, said: “Noon was established to support individuals and local companies, and the“ Noon Local ”program is our way of providing additional support to local companies, helping them in the economic construction, and reaching a large audience.

He added that, given that "Noon" is a local shopping platform, it is ideally positioned to guide companies to achieve electronic economic success, providing immediate access to the huge customer base, in addition to the ability to use tools such as: the secure payment gateway at Noon, and logistics services. And implementation.

He emphasized that the "Noon Local" program would be a practical program, with courses designed to assist emerging enterprises.

• 235% increase in the license of a "dealer" during August

A report issued by the commercial registration and licensing sector in the Dubai Economy showed that the number of "Tajer" licenses, concerned with licensing managed projects through social media and the Internet, issued during August 2020, increased by 235%.

According to the report, 637 dealer licenses were issued, compared with 190 licenses issued during August 2019. The report pointed out that 7798 “dealer” licenses were issued. Since the launch of the initiative until today, females have acquired the highest percentage of licenses, with 58% of the number of licenses. By 4,529 licenses, while males made up 42%, with 3,269 licenses.
