Regarding the government's tourism demand stimulus measures, “Go To Travel,” Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Akabane has announced that coupons that can be used at tourist facilities and souvenir shops will be available from October 1.

Go To Travel, which subsidizes up to 20,000 yen per night, first started in July by excluding travel discounts for travel to and from Tokyo.



On the other hand, coupons that can be used at tourist facilities and souvenir shops took time to prepare, but Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Akabane will make it available from 1st of next month at a press conference after the Cabinet meeting on the 8th. Coupons can be used only in the prefecture where there is an accommodation facility or an adjacent prefecture during the travel period.



It is issued in the form of paper as a gift certificate or in the form of an electronic coupon using a smartphone.



The government will start accepting registrations for tourist facilities and souvenir shops where coupons can be used from 1:00 pm on the 8th.



In addition, Minister Akabane said, "I have not decided at this point, but I have to discuss at the government subcommittee on 11th this week, as to whether to add travel to/from Tokyo as a target of Go To Travel."
