Minister of Economy: We support citizen entrepreneurs and develop solutions to the challenges they face

Minister of Economy Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri affirmed that the UAE, under the guidance of its wise leadership, is continuing its efforts to support the national economy and business development and work closely with all partners to enhance opportunities and address various challenges, within the framework of a clear vision expressed by the objectives of the flexible package and the general plan of 33 initiatives to support the economic sectors, which were recently adopted by the UAE government and their implementation is supervised by the Ministry of Economy in cooperation with the concerned authorities.

This came during a meeting of the minister at the headquarters of the Ministry of Economy in Dubai, in the presence of the Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Enterprises, Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, and the Undersecretary for Foreign Trade Affairs Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Saleh, with a group of owners Companies and businesses of citizens from a number of vital economic and commercial sectors, most notably the production sector, food processing, wholesale and retail trade, export activities and foreign trade.

During the meeting, the economy ministers reviewed the most prominent initiatives of the flexible package and the 33-initiative plan to activate the activities and work that the Ministry and its partners are working on, and ways to enhance the benefit of business owners from its outputs, communication and coordination to develop the partnership between the government and the private sectors during the next phase and work in a coordinated manner to explore growth opportunities, monitor and address all challenges in Business sector.

The Minister of Economy stated, “Over the past years, Emirati companies have achieved global leadership and a distinguished reputation in many economic fields, which is clearly reflected in the competitiveness, strength, diversity and sustainability of the national economy. Hence, we attach great importance to supporting national business owners, enhancing the success of national companies and expanding the scope of Its contribution to economic growth.We will open continuous and direct communication channels with the business sector, and we will enhance our presence in the market to see the effectiveness of the efforts made to support the economic sectors and support the exploration of new opportunities and potentials for growth, following up on various developments and challenges and developing appropriate plans and solutions for them.

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi stressed that the meeting with the owners of companies and businesses comes within the framework of keenness to develop partnership and work to support growth opportunities in these companies, and to emphasize the government's interest in supporting national family companies in their various fields of activity, which is in line with the efforts led by the Ministry The economy and its partners to support the economic sectors through a number of paths, the most prominent of which is increasing productivity, stimulating digital transformation and the use of technology in the business sector, enhancing sustainability and encouraging activities in areas related to food security, indicating the priority of attention to empowering entrepreneurs and enhancing the contribution of national small and medium enterprises in these development paths.

In turn, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi said: “We are working on diversifying opportunities for national companies and strengthening their share in the local markets, while at the same time supporting their export capabilities and removing commercial obstacles to them to enhance their access to foreign markets and open new markets for their products and services. The Ministry of Economy is keen to include requirements And the needs of the market and the business sector within the objectives of the flexible package and the 33-initiative plan to support the economic sectors and the continuity and growth of various business activities in the country, indicating the importance of identifying the expansion and growth plans of these companies during the next phase and the challenges they face to provide all possible support from the Ministry and its partners to these Plans for the growth and prosperity of national companies, and thus the competitiveness and diversification of the state's economy.
