Dubai Economy announced the coordination of an alliance between the Emirates Cooperative Society and the strategic partners of the electronic platforms “Talabat”, “Careem” and “Dukani”, to provide a safe and easy shopping experience for consumers from all over the Emirate of Dubai.

Dubai Economy stated in a statement yesterday that this initiative comes within the framework of the government's continuous efforts towards supporting various economic sectors, strengthening the national economy and preserving its sustainability, and coinciding with the work to maintain social distancing.

Offered products

Under the agreement, Talabat, Careem Now, and Dukkaani will offer up to 4,000 products from the Emirates Cooperative Society, to be delivered to consumers within 60-90 minutes from the time of online purchase, taking into account all Precautionary measures that must be taken to ensure the safety of all concerned parties, provided that the number of products offered is increased in a timely manner and according to the requests and reactions of consumers.

The Emirates Cooperative Society launched its e-commerce application via mobile phone at the beginning of this year to provide comfortable and safe shopping for online customers, and this comes in line with the high volume of demand for online shopping for food, consumer and other items.

Omar Al Muhairi, Director of the Development and Follow-up Department in the Commercial Registration and Licensing Sector at the Dubai Economy, said: “The coordination of this constructive cooperation is consistent with our strategic goals aimed at educating the business community and consumers of the need to adhere to the precautionary measures and procedures to achieve safety and security for various segments of society, as it has been observed that citizens and residents use Smart applications as an alternative to traditional purchase as they form part of the procedures they follow to avoid mixing with others.
