[Well-off China] Qinghai Chaidamu: wolfberry welcomes a good harvest mechanization into a new development trend

[Explanation] From the end of July to the end of September each year, Qinghai Qaidam wolfberry matures.

In the 500,000 acres of wolfberry planting base in Zongjia Town, Dulan County, Haixi Mongolian-Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, pickers from all over the world are busy in the fields, and the number of people reaches more than 40,000 at the most.

The high labor cost makes farmers here look forward to the arrival of mechanization.

[Explanation] Huke is the leader of labor export in Ningxia. This year, he brought 120 workers to Zongjia Town to work. This is also the tenth consecutive year that he has been here.

He said that many skilled workers can pick more than 200 catties of goji berries a day, and the workers who followed him have made money.

  [Concurrent] Ningxia picker Yang Shenglian

Pick more than 170 catties a day.

We are skilled workers.

Today we still don’t know that one pound is one yuan.

Every day is different.

I come here every year. We have been here for seven or eight years, and we have been here for two months.

[Concurrent] Ma Fanlin, a picker in Ningxia

Pick 100 catties, I am 25 years old this year.

I've been doing this for 5 or 6 years.

The income is about 3000-4000 yuan a month.

The workers brought out from this place every year are also very happy, earn a little every year, and treat the peasants better. We are all very happy.

When the workers earn, we can earn a little too.

We will come around July 20th, pick it up around October, and go home on October 1st or October 5th.

Each worker’s hand speed is not the same as hand slow. Those with fast hands earn 12,000, 3, and 15,000, and those with slow hands pick 6,000 and 5,000.

[Explanation] Xu Xianwen, the person in charge of Qinghai Kunlun River Wolfberry Co., Ltd., told reporters that in June each year, he signs labor contracts with multiple pickers to ensure the smooth progress of the picking period, and the cost of picking alone is as high as 15% .

He is very eager for machinery to replace labor.

[Concurrent] Xu Xianwen, person in charge of Qinghai Kunlun River Wolfberry Co., Ltd.

The total amount of organic wolfberry grown here is more than 3,900 mu, and the number of picking workers is guaranteed to be between 350 and 450 a day. If the picking fee is alone, its expenditure is 15% of the total price.

The machinery is good, but as far as the picking is concerned, the machinery is not yet mature and the national technology is not yet mature. Up to now, there is no machinery to pick, so it is all manual.

If there is a picker, it must be the first one we want.

[Explanation] Xu Zhenlin, a researcher at the Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Machinery Extension Station of Qinghai Province, told reporters that if you want a healthy and sustainable development of the wolfberry industry, it is a task that must be completed by machinery instead of labor, and this task requires the cooperation of multiple departments. carry out.

For example, remote-controlled weeding machines, remote-controlled spraying machines, including drones, have achieved autonomous operations. In this way, the labor intensity of producers can be greatly reduced, and production costs can also be effectively controlled.

Although there are still some problems with wolfberry picking, this requires close collaboration between our agricultural machinery, agronomy, cultivation, varieties, and our multiple departments to find a mechanized planting mode and management mode, then I believe that wolfberry picking machines It should be said that it will be launched soon.

We hope that our wolfberry industry will remain a pillar industry in the future, but it will no longer be a labor-intensive industry. It can bring more income to farmers and provide a very good opportunity for the transformation and upgrading of this industry.

[Explanation] It is understood that the area of wolfberry planted in Haixi Prefecture this year has reached more than 470,000 mu, and the total output of fresh wolfberry fruit is expected to reach 351,800 tons.

There are 100,000 pickers, and the total labor income is expected to be about 670 million yuan.
